fantastic service..I always thought AAMCO was too high priced but I took a chance and brought my 2005 range rover to Sam..He was one of the nicest guys I have ever dealt with in the auto industry and did everything he could to keep the price low ..I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for transmission work.
March 2024: I am writing to express my utmost gratitude and commendation for the outstanding service and support I received from the team at AAMCO Transmission Shop. Initially, I researched all of the reviews from their website to ensure there were no bad remarks. I noticed a few but I wanted the experience first hand. My initial reason for going there was for a transmission problem in which I was not able to drive the vehicle at all. The car needed a repair immediately and this was my first experience having a transmission replaced. The work took only a day or so and I had no issues at all. AAMCO - "You guys rock!". Six weeks after having my transmission repaired at your facility, my vehicle experienced damages that, upon inspection from your shop, were found to be unrelated to the initial repair. Despite this, your team went above and beyond to address the issues and ensure my complete satisfaction. Throughout the entire process, from the initial repair to the unforeseen damages, the professionalism and dedication exhibited by your staff were truly remarkable. Despite the additional work required, there was never a moment of hesitation or concern regarding the cost on my end. Your commitment to customer satisfaction and quality service is evident in every interaction and action taken. I am deeply impressed and grateful for the exceptional level of care and attention to detail demonstrated by AAMCO Transmission Shop. Sincerely, A very and extremely satisfied customer Feb 2025: I brought my 2012 Hyundai Elantra GLS to this shop for repair work after a major mechanical issue. My concern was not only the repair itself, but also the way the pricing was handled afterward. I was initially quoted one amount by phone and by email the day before pickup by Mary, but when I was later contacted by a mechanic and not Mary who I initially talked to just the day before, I was told the total had suddenly increased by several hundred dollars because additional work was performed without my approval. I explained that I had not approved any additional charges and would like to speak to the initial quoter. During that phone conversation, I had a heated and uncomfortable discussion with a mechanic about the price change, which left me feeling uneasy about the situation. When I arrived at the shop, the owner did apologize and honored the original approved price, which I do appreciate. However, the overall experience left me uncomfortable enough that I do not feel confident returning my vehicle there for follow-up work (loose connections, RPM gauge failing/ blown fuses/ black greasy hand markings on hood, doors, fenders). From my understanding, there are some new faces at that facility and it may be just a matter of getting them retrained on good customer service as well as craftsmanship. I’m quite sure the owner has this under control by now but I just don’t see myself returning and will look elsewhere the next time I really need help. I am sharing this review respectfully because clear communication, approval before additional charges, and customer trust matter just as much as the repair itself.
Amazing experience! Great communication, affordable, superb service, & family oriented which was so nice & appreciated. Ms. Mary was very sweet & explained what we need to do to keep our truck’s rebuilt transmission running smoothly. We made two hour trip from Lakeland, FL after being referred here from a family friend. It was so worth it! They seemed to really care! Thank you all for your amazing service & help! Our family is back to functioning smoothly with two working cars. We are so grateful we found you all.
